Updated: Jun 20, 2022

The "Bill Russell" is a capo invented and patented by Willard H Russell. We have written more extensively about this capo in our history of the capo series. Sterner says that this is, "the greatest capo invention." This capo was very popular for many years and it is easy to see why. It was easy to use, worked very well and was easy to produce. It wasn't until the about the 70's that other models took the main stage away from this widespread option. We have taken the time to put together a gallery of guitarist using this capo!
